Sledding, Sliding, and FALLING!

The Thursday following Christmas, it snowed and snowed leaving about 6 - 8 inches of fresh powder on the ground. The following day was sunny and cold and conditions were perfect for sledding. Brayden received new snow gear and a sled for Christmas and it was time to put them to the test! Andrew wore his hand-me-down snow suit from Brayden which was as good as new. The only problem was that he refused to wear gloves and keep his hood on (not a smart idea when it is 9 degrees outside).

Prepared for the elements we sought out to find the perfect hill.

We followed the crowds and decided to sled where the rest of Greeley was sledding, a long stretch of hill not far from our house.

Andrew made one run, had to thaw his hands in the car, and made a second run just before returning home. He appeared to have a good time, but I'm sure he would have enjoyed sledding more if he would have had feeling in his hands and face.

Brayden, however, was plenty warm and didn't want to leave. He started cautiously (half way up the hill), but by the end, was climbing and sliding all by himself. Even hit some small bumps.

As for the experts, I believe the video footage speaks for itself...

I think grandpa will stick to skiing!

We had so much fun and will certainly be back to take another crack at the hill!

Of course you put the video of you making it almost all the way down the hill and your dad biffing it near the top. For all of you out there who want to know the real story...There are 2 more videos out there. One where dad makes it at least half way down the hill and one where Matt biffs it harder and only makes it half way.:)

We are glad that Stacie cleared up the video discrepency!! Sid's first attempt he made it almost to the bottom before wiping out. It was good entertainment watching them from the warmth of our rental car!! Sid says I am a woosey girl (sp?) I didn't have the proper clothes to be sledding down the hill and I didn't want to add to the video footage that we already have!! Thanks for the entertainment boys!!

Fun times! We have been trying to find some sleds here to be able to go sledding. During Christmas Break I think every kid in MN bought a sled and everywhere we go they have been sold out! We will just have to see if we can be as graceful as you if we ever find a sled!!

I want to see Matt's wipeout! I wish we had more snow so we could do some sledding. I can't wait to go on a ski trip. Keep practicing dad.

That sounds like something the kelly boys would do...stand up on the sled and try and "ski" down the hill!!
