Chicago
This past week, I had the opportunity to attend a HFMA Conference in Chicago. My hotel was one block off of Michigan Avenue (The Magnificent Mile). My classes were from 8am to 3:15pm leaving plenty of time in the evening to explore the city and all it had to offer....and Chicago has a LOT to offer!
Chicago is a beautiful city with a variety of new and old buildings, amazing architechture, museums, huge parks, lots of shopping, and every type of restaurant imaginable. The weather was COLD, with some snow and freezing rain, but fortunately, it was not windy while I was there.
Christmas in the big city is so much fun with all the lights, music, and window displays. The Christmas tree was at the German Christmas Festival (great food!) taking place downtown and the window display was one of many at Macy's.
On my final night, I stopped by the Oriental Theatre to inquire about tickets to Wicked, a Broadway in Chicago show. I learned that they hold a lottery every show and if your name is drawn, you receive front row tickets for only $25. They drew 20 names and I was one of the lucky winners and enjoyed front row seats for the show. It was the perfect ending to a great trip. I hope to return someday when the weather is warmer, when I have more time, and with my wife.

How fun! Nic would be so jealous...that is where he served. We were able to visit the summer we lived in St. Louis but it would be way cool to be there during the holidays.
I'm so jealous that you got to see Wicked!!! And front row seats nonetheless. I love all the Christmas lights!
Such an amazing place to visit. Garrett Sessions lives there and is attending podiatry school. The Christmas lights are so cool and I saw that exact window on HGTV showing window displays around the country. You will have to be our our guide next time you visit and we can join you too!!
That is so cool that you one front row tickets to Wicked! I saw Wicked when I was in London with Thomas and we loved the Broadway! Front row however would have been way cool! We still need to venture to Chicago it is just about a 6 hour trip from the Twin Cities.
